Sankar Netralaya
In 2012, Sankara Nethralaya started a study with TFRI Grant to look for serum biomarkers in the blood and the institution is hopeful of finding interesting results. August 2015 run money has been earmarked for cancer research and if the project gets approved by TFRI, it will be used for retinoblastoma research. The proceeds of the run will be utilised for research on retinoblastoma, a type of cancer of the eye, particularly affecting younger children, undertaken by Sankara Nethralaya. At present, there are no biomarkers available to study the tumour in blood.
